(b) To confirm that application details are correct ► so that we can ensure that information used to assess applications for the Capital on Tap Business Credit Card are entirely correct, we may cross-check it against resources such as:

(i) state corporate registration records, to confirm company information;

(ii) zip code confirmation services;

(iii) data validation services, to confirm bank account and contact details; and

(iv) consumer reporting agencies.

The purpose of these checks is to monitor for inconsistencies. Sometimes, where we cannot confirm your details based on the information provided, we may request further documentation such as copies of identification documents or bank statements.

(c) To process applications for credit ► We will use your personal data in connection with processing applications for the Capital on Tap Business Credit Card. To do this, we may:

(i) undertake checks against PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) Sanctions and AML (Anti Money Laundering) databases;

(ii) utilize consumer reporting agencies and credit data providers to undertake a credit check on you and/or your business;

(iii) utilize third party databases to assist in connection with the processing of your application; and

(iv) use third party tools to categorize your personal and financial data.

We will continue to exchange information about you with credit reporting agencies (CRAs) while you have a relationship with us. We will also inform the CRAs about your settled accounts. If you borrow and do not pay the minimum contractual repayments on time, we will report the outstanding debt to CRAs, who will record this on your business credit file, and personal credit file where a Personal Guarantee is in place. We may also inform CRAs if you do not pay the minimum contractual repayments on time and enter an Arrangement to Pay. This information may be supplied to other organizations by CRAs.

(d) In relation to fraud/crime prevention ► personal information we have collected about you may be shared with fraud prevention agencies that will use it to prevent fraud and money-laundering and to verify your identity. If fraud is suspected or detected or you supply us with misleading, false, incomplete or inaccurate information, you could be refused credit, or your existing account may be frozen, pending investigation.

(e) To undertake continuing checks and monitoring ► to ensure service quality, accurate credit offer assignment, and compliance with procedures.

Where a Capital on Tap Business Credit Card account has been issued, we may continue to check against the information you provided to us, your credit report, PEP, sanctions and/or anti-money-laundering databases on a periodic basis. We also undertake ongoing monitoring of your use of our Website and your transactions for fraud detection or crime prevention purposes.

(f) To collect payments ► We will generally collect credit payments directly from you via ACH. We use GoCardless to process your ACH payments. When you are late in making a scheduled payment, a collections agent may be engaged to obtain repayment. There is a process in place to assist individuals who are struggling to make payments on their Capital on Tap Business Credit Card . (g) To provide you with marketing materials ► to provide you with updates and offers, where you have chosen to receive these. 5.1   We may disclose information about you to any of our affiliates or their or our employees, officers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary to provide you with the services contemplated in the Capital on Tap Business Credit Card Agreement or as set out in this Privacy Policy. These entities will only collect, use and disclose your personal information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. These entities will employ commercially reasonable security procedures and practices to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.

Storage limits

7.6  Typically, we keep your personal information for 10 years after the account or service inquiry has been closed or completed. Our retention periods for personal data are based on business needs and legal requirements. We retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the processing purpose(s) for which the information was collected, and any other permissible, related purpose. For example, we may retain certain transaction details and correspondence until the time limit for claims arising from the transaction has expired, or to comply with regulatory requirements regarding the retention of such data. When personal data is no longer needed, we either irreversibly anonymize the data (and we may further retain and use the anonymized information) or securely destroy the data.
