What is Plaid? 

Plaid is a third party that helps us securely validate the  bank account data and other information you have provided in your application and to undertake continuing checks and monitoring.

How we use it

We may use Plaid to:

  • Verify your bank account and account ownership information.

  • Request real-time balance data, confirm business activity, and verify business revenue

  • Access transaction history, including merchant and category details

  • Payment initiation

  • Conduct ongoing account monitoring, where authorized, to verify information manage fraud or other risks, and determine continued eligibility for applicable products or services.

  • To meet our regulatory obligations

  • To refer your application to alternative financing partners, and share the bank account, balance, transaction history, transaction categories, and business revenue information we have validated or derived using Plaid with them, so they can assess whether to offer you their own financing product

Ongoing Access

If you authorize ongoing access to your financial account information, we may periodically obtain updated account, balance, transaction, or business revenue information for the purposes described above.  Ongoing access will be subject to the permissions associated with your connected account. Disconnecting an account may affect our ability to provide or administer products or services that depend on access to that information.

Payments

Connecting your financial account through Plaid does not, by itself, authorize us to withdraw funds from your account. Any payment initiated using your connected account will be made pursuant to the separate payment instructions or authorization applicable to that payment.

Data Security

We have selected Plaid for their security protocols which include Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Transport Layer Security (TLS) as well as their adherence to international security protocols.
