Keeping your account secure with device binding.
Overview
Device binding is a security feature that helps protect your account from fraud. It checks that it's really you requesting the action, using identity verification (IDV) whenever you use a new device or browser.
Once you've completed device binding on a device, you won't need to verify your identity again on that same device. You'll only be asked again if you clear your cache or cookies, use an incognito browser, or wipe the device.
When is device binding required?
You'll be prompted to complete device binding when you attempt to perform any of the following actions on a new device or browser:

Log in to the mobile app or web portal for the first time

Create a virtual card

View the details of a virtual card
-
Add a virtual card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

Create a contact
-
Complete a drawdown
How to complete device binding
When you're prompted to complete device binding, follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity. This process is powered by our secure identity verification partner, Persona.
If you're using the web portal and having trouble, you may have the option to 'Continue on another device'.
Once we've verified your identity, you can continue with the action you wanted to complete.
What if my identity verification is unsuccessful?
If your identity verification is unsuccessful, you'll see a message indicating that we were unable to complete the action.
If you encounter this issue, try the following:

Ensure you have a strong internet connection.

Make sure you're in a well-lit area for the photo and video portion of the verification.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies, or try a different browser, if you're using the web portal.

Delete and reinstall the Capital on Tap mobile app if you're using a mobile device.

Try to complete the action on a different device.
