Learn how to add your Capital on Tap card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and what to do if it won't add.
Overview
You can add your physical or virtual Capital on Tap Business Credit Card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for contactless payments.
Which cards can I add to a digital wallet?
Both physical and virtual Capital on Tap cards can be added to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Virtual cards are particularly useful for digital wallet payments, as they're available immediately after creation. This means you can start spending before your physical card arrives.
How do I add my card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?
There are two methods to add your Capital on Tap card to a digital wallet.
Via the Capital on Tap app:
-
Open the app and navigate to the 'Cards' tab.
-
Select the card you wish to add.
-
Tap 'Add to Apple Wallet' or 'Add to Google Wallet'.
-
Review the details and confirm to complete the process.
Via your phone's wallet app: Manually enter the card details into the Apple Wallet or Google Wallet app on your device.
How do I verify my card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?
When you add a card through your phone's wallet app, you'll need to verify your identity for security. You can complete this through the Capital on Tap app.
If you haven't completed identity verification, you may be prompted to do so when adding a card.
If a 'Could not add card' error appears, tap 'OK', then 'Back', then 'Cancel' to restart the identity verification process.
What are the transaction limits on my digital wallet transactions?
Physical contactless cards have a £100 limit before you need to use chip and PIN. Digital wallet transactions often don't have a specific contactless limit. They're still subject to your available credit and your card's individual spending limit.
Why can't I add my card to a digital wallet?
You might be having trouble adding your card to a digital wallet because:
-
Card is frozen: Unfreeze your card through the 'Cards' page in your portal or app before adding it to a digital wallet.
-
Identity verification is incomplete: Complete verification through the Capital on Tap app.
If the card fails to add after verification is complete, try these steps:
-
Ensure your Capital on Tap app is updated to the latest version.
-
Remove any previously failed card attempts from your digital wallet.
-
Restart your phone and try adding the card again.
-
Check that your phone's operating system supports the digital wallet feature.
If the issue persists after these steps, please contact us through the app or web portal.
What happens if my device is stolen or lost?
If your device is lost or stolen, terminate any digital tokens on it immediately to keep your account secure. Digital tokens are the digital versions of your card stored on your phone.
