Making a Debit Card Repayment

This article explains how to make a manual debit card repayment towards your outstanding Capital on Tap Business Credit Card balance. It also covers what to do if you run into any issues.

Overview

You have the option to make a manual repayment towards your outstanding balance using your debit card. You can easily do this through your online portal or app.

How to make a repayment

To make a repayment, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Navigate to your dashboard, then go to the 'Payments' page.

  3. Select 'Make a payment'.

  4. Select 'Other ways to pay', then 'Pay by Debit Card'.

  5. Enter the amount to pay.

  6. Authenticate the payment with your bank before it's applied to your outstanding balance.

Note: Debit card details will not be saved and must be re-entered for each repayment.

Important: The maximum you can repay via a manual debit card per repayment is £5,000, capped at 2 transactions per day. If you want to repay more than this, you can use a bank transfer.

What is the limit for debit card repayments?

The maximum you can repay for each manual debit card repayment is £5,000, capped at 2 per day. This limit does not apply to your automatic Direct Debit.

What should I do if I receive a 'Whoops we've run into an error' message?

If you receive this error message, it may be due to a security check by your bank. You should contact your bank directly for assistance. If the issue persists, try the following steps:

  1. Wait 15 minutes before attempting the repayment again.

  2. Use a Google Chrome web browser and clear your cookies and cache.

  3. Open an incognito window and log in to your account.

  4. Try using a different debit card or device.

Can I make a repayment using PayPal?

No, we don't accept repayments from a PayPal account.

Why is the debit card option greyed out?

If your debit card option is greyed out, you've reached the dynamic limit for debit card repayments. This is a rolling 30-day limit that's different for each customer, and there's no way to check it in advance. If you've reached this limit, please use an alternative repayment method, such as a bank transfer.
